Sketchbook Competition 2026 - Eco Future

Congratulations to Paulina Kurzydlowska, MA Fine Art!

The theme for this year’s competition was 'Eco Future', and Paulina wrote this statement about her design process, which we absolutely love:

“My design is inspired by a view of a stream in Ballaglass Glen, located on the Isle of Man. During my design process, I integrated advanced technology (image projection and photography) with traditional methods (acrylic landscape painting) to create a regenerative, nature-positive design highlighting the significance of ecological sustainability.

Our reality is ever-changing: biology, ecology, and technology are becoming increasingly inseparable. This combination of multiple methods of making explores how the boundary between the natural world and our digital existence has progressively dissolved and become more intertwined.”
