Ferns
Depicting a birds-eye view of a subtle stream of water surrounded by ferns and tree leaves, this painting evokes life and colour from the picture plane. 'Ferns' shows off the subtleness of cloud and tree reflections in the water through the process of layering acrylic paint onto the canvas. The painting further encourages the viewer to explore organic textures and luscious landscapes right below our feet.

Stone Pile
This painting depicts a landscape from Douglas Beach overlooking the sea. The sun peeks through the clouds as the viewer is directed over the painting and the brightly coloured stones in the foreground. 'Stone Pile' reinforces the exploration of pixelated texture using acrylic paint, offering a variety of tones through a moody atmosphere.

Leaning Tree
This painting depicts a summer scene: blue sky, green tree and a sandy path. The painting process calls into question the link of distance from a painting and the viewer's feeling of intimacy to the natural subject through a pixelated cascade of colour. 'Leaning Tree' with its bright tones, offers a unique exploration of organic textures, forms and optical movement.

Riverbed
This painting is the first of a series of abstract artworks inspired by nature and pixelated images on computer screens. 'Riverbed' with its earthy tones, offers a unique exploration of organic forms and textures of water, ice and stone.

Squaring 125 (125 x 125 stitches)
My first and ambitious cross stitch project depicting an intimate view of complex structures of intermingling shape, patterns and bright colours projected upon in my studio installation. The back simultaneously conveys the hidden workings of code or wires in electronic devices which the piece's texture was inspired by.

Where light leaks through trees
This hand-made design, inspired by the beauty of the sun and its relationship to nature, comes to life in the presence of sunlight. Exposed elements allow natural light to pass through due to the fabric's woven properties and, in turn, reinforce the magical moment when the original photograph of this piece was taken.
'Where light leaks through trees' was created with 12 colours of thread and is made up of 4,257 individual crosses.

Flower Bed (50 x 50 stitches)
This is the first piece contributing to a series of small embroidery experiments connecting stitching with photography and nature. 'Flower bed' is composed of 2,500 hand-stitched crosses encouraging viewers to consider their own idea of the aesthetic through a pixilated rendition of yellow and orange flowers. Their form in real life juxtaposes their texturised image within my work through my documentation. (1/3).

Floral Abstraction (50 x 50 stitches)
Abstract colour rendition of a wild flower using thread in a cross stitch design. An experimentation into the obscurity of pixilated images and thus, their hidden subject. (2/3).

Connectivity (50 x 50 stitches)
A careful compositional network of colour, pattern and line using thread to tell a story of the authentic process of making in the 21st century. The true image is once again obscured and the inference of which is up to the viewer until it is revealed. (3/3).

Two Sides to the Same Stitch (Diptych)
Working with the machine to question the typical conventions of drawing, I continue to venture over the boundaries of both physical and digital media.
This piece communicates the detailed complexities of the front and back of my cross-stitched fabric as it was being completed and is engraved as precise replications of its two sides in real life.
